When I was at my lowest during my divorce and sought the help of a brilliant psychiatrist, he told me one thing above all else would lead to mental health: meditation. More than drugs, more than exercise, more than eating healthy, mindfulness is the key to peace, he said.
I’ve been meditating with Sam Harris’ Waking Up (Get a free week here) app for almost 4 years. 900 sessions and 7500 minutes later I’m just starting to get a sense of how powerful meditation is. I consider myself a beginner and a good imitator of someone who I believe is a brilliant guide.
I’ve completed a Zen Meditation course with Integral Zen.
I’ve also completed a Duke MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) course.
I’m a single dad of an amazing 10 year old girl who teaches me patience and love every day.
I’m a photography studio owner with 24 years in business.
I’m a member of the global men’s organization, The ManKind Project, whose belief is “… that emotionally mature, powerful, compassionate, and purpose-driven men will help heal some of our society’s deepest wounds.”
I’ve fallen in love with psychic grounding and leading meditation through my participation in weekly meetings at The ManKind Project. My goal is to bring that love into this new OPEN SKY space and see what grows.
